Higher Education Teaching and Learning welcomes you!
The Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association (HETL) is a global community of higher education professionals and organizations who are committed to advancing the scholarship and practice of teaching and learning in higher education. Please visit The HETL Portal at http://hetl.org
Perhaps the best way to get started and to get comfortable with the group is to review the existing discussions (in both the main group and the subgroups) and then contribute a comment to the discussions you have an interest in.
Also, feel free to start your own discussion if you like. We look forward to your participation and your contributions. The HETL Group Rules are found by clicking on the ‘Group rules’ link on the group home page.
Since more members add more value to the discussions and provide us with more opportunities to collaborate and extend our network, be sure to invite your fellow educators to join the group by using the “Share Group” link on the group homepage or by sending them the group link http://bit.ly/bgnIig
Vision: the long-term vision of HETL is to improve educational outcomes in higher education by creating new knowledge and advancing the scholarship and practice of teaching and learning.
Mission: to bring that vision to reality, the current mission of HETL is to develop a global community of higher education professionals who come together to share their knowledge and expertise in teaching and learning.
Values: to effectively fulfill that mission, HETL adheres to the values of academic integrity, collegiality, and diversity.
HETL members represent all disciplines, functions, and levels within higher education. HETL is open to all institutional types and missions. As such, HETL members represent a broad cross-section of professionals in higher education across the globe. This diversity allows HETL to create a global perspective on teaching and learning.
Please join our subgroups. The subgroups focus on special topics of interest. For instance, if you have a technology related question, please post it the technology subgroup. If you want to collaborate on research projects with other educators, please use the scholarship subgroup.
