Dear Christine Ortiz (Edcamp Orlando)

Dear Sean Williams (Edcamp Gorge)

Dear Toby Fischer (Edcamp Columbus)

Dear Tamara Gómez (Edcamp Calbuco)

Dear Catalina Oyarzún (Edcamp Coyhaique)

Dear Dan Callahan (Edcamp Foundation Chairman)

Dear Kristen Swanson (Edcamp Foundation Board Member)

Me: Thomas Baker (Edcamp Santiago)

Hello to all the Edcamp organizers, both here in Chile and in the USA. We are all having our Edcamp on the same day, Saturday, March 9th, 2013. In Chile, we would like to connect, globally, with each of you, simultaneously, for an hour during our edcamps.

Google+ Hangout is the medium that would allow all of us to come together, at the same time, on the same screen. We think it would be absolutely awesome to share such a moment with each one of you.

We speak English quite well in Chile, and communication is not a problem since we share a common language. If anyone wants to speak in Spanish, go ahead, our teachers would appreciate the use of their native language, if only to say Hello.

The time difference is like this:

When it is 3PM in Chile (same time for Santiago, Calbuco, and Coyhaique), it is 1PM in Orlando, also 1PM in Columbus, but 10AM in Portland, Oregon. For Boston, New York, Philadelphia it is 1PM.

So, we suggest either 3 PM or 4PM (Chile time) to do a Global Google+ Hangout for an hour, and of course, record the Global Edcamp Hangout.

So, here is the idea: Edcamp Chile invites the Edcamp Foundation (Dan, Kristen or anyone else who might be available) to host the Global Google+ Hangout with 6 edcamps participating: 3 in Chile, and 3 in the USA – from the Southeast to the Northwest of the USA to the south of Chile.

I include a link to our program schedule we have made for Chile.

We can modify it to accommodate the Global Google+ Hangout we are proposing, or if it is not possible, then Edcamp Chile would be interested in arranging individual Google+ Hangouts with any Edcamp that would be wiling to participate with us.

Many thanks in advance. For your comments and questions I will respond immediately.

Best regards,

Thomas Baker
